TREE PLANTINGS: Ten trees will be planted Saturday at Rolling Green Apartments, 422 Belchertown Road, as part of the Second Saturday Plantings led by the Public Shade Tree Committee.

The trees will be put in the ground beginning at 9 a.m. and the public is invited  to assist the committee members, Rolling Green residents and Tree Warden Alan Snow.

“Everbody’s welcome,” said committee member Nonny Burack. “It’s a good chance to learn the proper ways to plant trees.”

Burack said Snow will show both planting and pruning techniques during the event.

SAFETY DISPLAYS: Public safety agencies from the University of Massachusetts and the towns of Amherst and Hadley will sponsor “Big Hero 6 Night” at the Southwest Horseshoe off University Drive at 5 p.m. Friday.

Following the activities, the animated feature “Finding Nemo” will be screened outdoors. Attendees should bring chairs and blankets.

In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Curry Hicks Cage.
