NORTHAMPTON — The annual household hazardous waste collection will be held May 21 at Smith Vocational High School, 80 Locust St.
Preregistered Northampton, Florence and Leeds residents may bring hazardous household waste free of charge for safe disposal via a licensed hazardous materials handler. Advance registration is required. Participants will receive an appointment time to deliver their material to the event.
A range of unwanted household products with labels indicating the need for special handling or disposal will be accepted. This includes household, garden and auto-related items with the phrase “keep out of reach of children” on the label, or warnings that “contents are caustic, toxic, corrosive, poison, flammable or dangerous.”
