BELCHERTOWN — The death of a 59-year-old Wilbraham man found in a car on Barrett Street Tuesday afternoon has been ruled a noncriminal, nonsuspicious death, according to the Northwestern district attorney’s office.
As result, the district attorney’s office said it would release no further details about the incident. Belchertown Police also declined to release the man’s name or the cause of his death.
The discovery of the man was reported to police shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, shutting down Barrett Street for about four hours as police investigated and emergency medical workers responded to the scene.
No foul play is suspected, and the cause of death will be determined by a state medical examiner, according to the district attorney’s office.
“This was determined to be an isolated incident,” Belchertown Police reported on the department’s Facebook page Tuesday. “At no time did this incident pose a safety threat to the public.”
Belchertown Police and State Police detectives in the district attorney’s office investigated the death.
