A very nice celebration was just held on Mount Tom to remember the members of the military who lost their lives coming home from World War II when their plane struck the mountain.
My nephew and I climbed this mountain from bottom to top about 16 years ago, soon after they erected the memorial stone. That’s all that was there at the time.
What a great tribute after 70 years. The coverage did not mention the role that the late Norman Cote played in getting the memorial erected. He deserved to be mentioned, in my opinion.
