Something just caught my eye in the Gazette I am reading and from it came an idea worth considering.
Amherst is looking for a new superintendent of schools and on Page One is, I believe, just the guy they need. In the article headlined “Ways around a water ban,” Jamie Sweeting makes the following statement: “It already died, so there is no point in putting water on it.”
Just the kind of pragmatism Amherst needs!
