BACH & BLANCHETTE …
… Need I say more? Well, I will, for clarity’s sake. For the ninth year, Northampton archguitarist Peter Blanchette presents a concert to commemorate the birth in 1685 of Johann Sebastian Bach, the German composer who brought us such masterpieces as The Brandenburg Concertos and The Goldberg Variations. Among the pieces he’ll perform on the 11-string archguitar, which is lutelike in its versatility, will be Bach’s Violin Sonatas and the Partita for Solo Flute.
Saturday, 7:30 p.m., First Churches, 129 Main St., Northampton. $17.50, $22.50, $25 (remaining tickets, if any, will be sold at the door for $20, cash or check). nohoarts.org.
