The Hopkins Academy boys basketball team went deep to qualify for the postseason Wednesday.
The Golden Hawks hit 10 3-pointers en route to an 80-41 win over Frontier Regional in South Deerfield.
The two-time defending Western Massachusetts Division 4 champions were led by Sam’i Roe’s 29 points.
Justin Ciaglo added a career-high 20 and Jon Morrison 11 for Hopkins (10-1). Ciaglo’s previous career high of 17 points came in a win over Frontier on Dec. 19.
The Red Hawks (4-9) got scoring from 11 players, including 12 from Carsten Carey.
Palmer 80, Granby 43 — Zach Gorham had 15 points and Mike Sosa added 12 but the Rams (8-4, 4-3 Bi-County) fell to the league-leading Panthers (12-1, 7-0) on the road.
St. Mary’s 44, Gateway Regional 42 — The Gators (2-7) missed three shots in the final seconds and fell just short of their third victory.
Brett Turbin had 19 points and Shane Mastello 13 for Gateway.
Jake Butler led the way for St. Mary’s with 18 points.
South Hadley 57, Belchertown 50 — Calvin Bridges had 20 points and Matt Grochowalski added 16 for the Tigers (7-5, 3-3 Suburban). Nate Poirier chipped in with 11.
Mitch Medina had 20 points and Nolan Vogel added 13 for the Orioles (0-11, 0-6).
Amherst Regional 89, Chicopee 67 — Seth Bella-Hunter recorded a triple-double (10 points, 16 rebounds, 13 blocked shots) as the Hurricanes (9-3) routed the Pacers (4-7).
Meikkel Murray led all scorers with 28 points for Amherst.
Easthampton 63, Renaissance 46 — The Eagles got off to a slow start, but were able to pull away in the third quarter
Zach Crisafulli scored 32 points for the Eagles (5-6). Josh Brown had 11 points in the win.
Hampshire Regional 61, Ware 59 — Jacob Bihler had 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Greg Laroche added 16 points and eight steals as the Raiders (8-4, 5-2 Bi-County) held on.
Matt Babyak also scored 16 points in the win.
Turners Falls 34, Frontier Regional 24 — Lisa Portier and Kate Hickey each had five points for the Red Hawks (4-7), who were outscored 10-2 in the fourth quarter on the road.
McCann Tech 51, Smith Vocational 39 — Stephanie Start led the Vikings with 23 points and 13 rebounds in the home loss for the Vikings (6-8).
