    Happy Boynton leads a class on how to play pickleball at Allsport Arena in Northampton, where he teaches newcomers to the fast-growing sport. The class is offered on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. “That’s the point,” Boynton said to one of the players during a recent session. “There’s a community center in every town and you can just go and play.” Later in the class when asked why Boynton loved the game so much he said, “I am a recovering alcoholic and I would have been out on the streets if not for pickleball, it saved my life.”
