BELCHERTOWN — A 48-year-old woman from Ware was killed Tuesday after the vehicle she was driving collided with a UPS truck parked along the side of Route 9.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. as the UPS truck was parked along a residence at 300 Ware Road. The woman, yet to be identified by the Northwestern district attorney’s office, was alone in her car when she crashed into the truck.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Baystate Wing Medical Center in Palmer, where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the UPS truck was also treated for minor injuries as a result of the crash.

The case remains under investigation by the Belchertown Police and the DA’s office.
