- Take Notice! The gentleman who on Monday last exchanged a ten-dollar Brattleborough bill for 2 five-dollar bills at a store in Northampton is requested to call at the same place and make another exchange immediately.
- At a regular communication of Orion Lodge, held at Cummington, July 28, 1825, William Otis was regularly expelled from said lodge by a unanimous vote. Printers friendly to the masonic institution are requested to give this notice an insertion in their papers. Seth Williams, secretary of said lodge.

- Nearly every farmer in the valley took down some tobacco Saturday night and more Sunday morning. There have been a few sales of tobacco, the prices ranging from 23 to 30 cents a pound. This year’s tobacco is heavier and of better quality than last year’s yield.
- Shortly before 3 o’clock this afternoon, the Gazette was informed that the directors of the Three County Fair Association had decided to call off the entertainment scheduled for tonight. It is believed that the gates would be open for those who wish to visit the exhibition halls, but the vaudeville, band concert and other entertainment will not be given until tomorrow, due to the wet weather.

- The City Council last night voted an additional $17,200 to cover the expense of an unanticipated cost increase on the Pulaski Park renovation project. Preliminary plans for the renovation of the Main Street park called for the work to be done for a maximum of $30,000, including a $15,000 grant from the state Bicentennial Commission, but the council was presented last night with a $47,000 renovation budget.
- The election of four new members to the board of trustees at The Clarke School for the Deaf has been announced by Winthrop S. Dakin, board chairman. Dr. Jill Ker Conway, president of Smith College; Saul Gliserman, attorney at law; Dr. John W. Lederle, former president of the University of Massachusetts; and Gilbert G. Coville, great-grandson of Alexander Graham Bell, have all accepted appointments to the board.
