This is the first time in my 15 years as a Florence resident that I write to enthusiastically support a City Council candidate. I wholeheartedly support Vincent “Luke” Rotello. I first met him when he came to my door campaigning in the neighborhood for the position. Since then, I have had the opportunity to speak with him on a number of occasions and feel that this is a young, smart, and engaged individual who will energetically represent Ward 5 on the City Council.
He has the wits about him to be analytical and penetrating when it comes to finances, including capital expenditures, a grasp of the policy issues facing the city, and an unwavering commitment to transparency. He also has the rare ability to speak to and listen to people across political, class and cultural perspectives. The council could use this voice and mind in its deliberations. He has my vote.
