When I first heard that Salem Derby was considering running for Mayor of Easthampton, it was as if a breath of fresh air enveloped me. He’d become the interim mayor and soon realized how effective he could be in supporting his city. With his 20-plus years as an educator, 22 years as an Easthampton city councilor, his abilities to problem solve, to negotiate, to collaborate and to be responsive to the needs of all, he is the perfect fit for Easthampton. His knowledge of the city and its workings is extensive, his commitment is exemplary and his willingness to establish concrete and attainable goals that will truly improve the lives of everyone in Easthampton is proven.
