SOUTHAMPTON — Police and fire crews responded around 8 p.m. Monday after a car lost control on a bend on Valley Road, flipped over and crashed into a parked vehicle before coming to rest upside down.

Fire Chief Richard Fasoli said the crash occurred at 55 Valley Road. Both vehicles were damaged to the point where they could not be driven.

He said besides the cars, there was also damage to the front lawn of the property.

In an email to the Gazette, Southampton Police Chief Ian Illingsworth said officers did not believe substance use was a contributing factor.

No arrests were made, and the cause of the crash is undetermined and being investigated.

Fasoli said there were four people between the ages of 18 and 20 in the vehicle that lost control. They were able to get out of the car before responders arrived, and all refused transport to the hospital after EMS determined they had minor injuries.

Additionally, Fasoli said there have been accidents on that stretch of Valley Road. “There’s a bend at the end and there’s a turn, and it’s happened on that road before.”
