Alysha Parshall-Matylas, a Northampton native, has been selected to join the U.S. National Ultimate under-20 women’s team, which will compete at the 2026 World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) this coming summer.
Parshall-Matylas was among the more than 200 invitees who participated in tryouts this fall and made the cut after the roster was announced earlier this week. Parshall-Matylas joins Newton native Ellie Lemberg as the only New England representatives on the women’s roster.
Team USA also fields a mixed team and an open team at the WJUC, which has taken home 16 medals (including 10 gold) since it began participating in 1988. The women won silver in 2024.
This year’s event will be held from July 11-18 in Logroรฑo, Spain.
Keegan Andrews Named A Second Team FWAA All-American
UMass football’s punter, Keegan Andrews, has been named a 2025 Football Writers Association of America Second Team All-American, announced on Thursday.
Andrews, who competed as a graduate student for the Minutemen this past season, led the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in punting average (46.5), punts inside the 20 (26), total yards (3,211), total punts (69) and 50-plus yard punts (21). His 46.5 average also ranks seventh in FBS.
Andrews became the second Minuteman to earn FWAA All-American honors, joining wide receiver Andy Isabella, who was selected for the First Team in 2018.
