The Amherst girls swimming team tied with Minnechaug in a Minuteman league dual-meet at the Amherst Middle School Pool on Tuesday.
Both teams earned 85 points in the draw, despite multiple noteworthy efforts from the Hurricanes.
Rowan Albertson swam to first place in both the 100 freestyle in 56.95 seconds and the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.83.
Emory Albertson claimed first in the 100 breaststroke and qualified for the Division 1 state meet in the 200 IM with a 2:23.74. Teagen Demers also won the 200 free in 2:06.34, plus earned a spot in the state meet and the Western Mass. meet in the 500 free with a 5:49.56.
Amherst’s boys team lost to the Falcons, 119-58. The ‘Canes received a first-place finish from Tallon Demers (50 free, 23.45), while Archer Young qualified for the Fast Chance meet in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:21.41.

Smith Voc 77, Turners Falls 56 — The Vikings’ offense stayed red hot in the win against the Thunder.
Domeniq Sanchez led the way with 26 points, while Theo Wojcik, Luis Delerme, Josh Cole and Spencer Warner all reached double figures.
Smith Voc netted 81 points in its previous game.
East Longmeadow 65, South Hadley 49 — The Tigers took too long to get going in the home defeat.
South Hadley scored just 11 points during the first half to trail by 19 (30-11) at halftime. The Tigers poured in 25 points in the fourth, but it was too little too late.
Noah Hambley (17 points) and Tim Loughrey (16 points) were the Tigers’ top two scorers.
Frontier 64, Hopkins 27 — The Redhawks were in the driver’s seat from the jump, leading 29-9 at halftime, then finishing with a near 40-point margin of victory.
Alex Ellis (19 points), Dean Gray (12 points) and Ty Skroski (11 points) were Frontier’s top trifecta on offense.
Chace Earle paced the Golden Hawks offense, wrapping up with 13 points.
Greenfield 83, Smith Academy 41 — The Falcons were no match for the Green Wave in the Hampshire North blowout.
Smith Academy’s rough patch continues as its gone 1-4 in its previous five games.

Frontier 85, Monson 8 — The Redhawks’ ninth consecutive win was a lopsided one, dispatching the Mustangs at Goodnow Gym.

Easthampton 53, Hampshire 48 — The Eagles showed no signs of slowing down on Monday, downing the Raiders for their sixth straight win.
Three Easthampton players nabbed 11 points in Chase Canon-Smith, Patrick Larson and Rae Mathurin.
Vynce Carr contributed 14 points for Hampshire in the losing effort.
