Norman Carrier

Easthampton, MA – Norman Carrier, age 90, passed away on March 18, 2026 unexpectedly at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Northampton MA, on Sept 3, 1935, the son of the late Ernest and Francis (Mumblow) Carrier.

Norman attended public schools in Easthampton where he was raised. He was employed by Stanley Home Products in the shipping and receiving department until his retirement. During lunchtime and break time he could be found with his work friends playing cards which became a lifelong love of gaming. He took many trips to both local casinos and to Las Vegas with his bride and his brother Henry and his wife Linda. He loved the trips to Aruba taken with family members. He could be found enjoying many road trips to explore places, such as the Cape, Vermont, New York State to name a few. He loved to tell many stories about each trip as they each held a special place in his heart.

Another love for Norman was his home. He spent countless hours making sure his grass was well maintained and his yard was spotless. When he wasn’t able to work outside, he would find many projects inside the house to keep himself busy. He was a devoted husband and father and loved his extended family immensely. Time with them brought him true joy.

He is survived by his wife Dawn (LaMere) Carrier. He met her one day in town, her big smile caught his eye, and he knew she was the one for him and the rest was history. She was his one and only true love and his devotion was like none other. They spent their life together in Easthampton, a community very dear to them both. In recent years, they would enjoy their evenings together in front of the fireplace while they would enjoy reminiscing about their fun trips and tell stories of raising their two boys. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary last year. Most recently Norman spent each day visiting Dawn and keeping her company at the facility where she now resides.

He is also survived by his son Todd and wife Valerie (Higgins) of Westhampton. His grandchildren, Joshua (Meaghan) Carrier of Westfield, Zachary Carrier (Athol), Samuel (Sara) Carrier of Huntington and two step-grandchildren, Taylor Casterline and Zachary Casterline of Westhampton. Two great-granddaughters, Lillian and Natalie and a great-grandson, Scotty. His sister, Jeanette Morin of Easthampton and also many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Scott Carrier, brothers Ernest “Sunny”, Robert “Bob” and Henry “Hank” Carrier and sisters Diane LeBeau and Beatrice Frennier.
