Thank you to the Gazette for the recent listing of high school wrestling all-stars. I had no idea Holyoke High School was such a powerhouse! The first three individuals named, Steven Santiago, Jesus Morales, and Parker Brunelle, all wrestle for Holyoke High. Two other Holyoke student athletes, Mikiadenise Johnson and Zaire Burton-King, were also mentioned. Of the 12 Gazette All-Stars, five come from Holyoke High. What’s going on in the Paper City to be such a high school wrestling hotbed? I know I would appreciate a feature article about the Holyoke High School wrestling program, and its triumphs. Congratulations to these successful student athletes, and to the Holyoke community for providing and supporting a program that, by what I am reading, is clearly thriving. Their winning is something all of us in the Valley can take pride in.
