The South Hadley baseball team matched its season high in runs scored in its 13-3 win over Northampton on Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers tallied 11 hits in the five-inning, run-rule shortened contest, led by Matt Butler, Lincoln Belsky and Noah Carillon.

Butler and Belsky each brought in three runs for South Hadley in its fourth win of the season.

On the mound, Butler earned the win with six hits and three runs allowed while striking out one and walking one.

For the Blue Devils, Bradyn Rios had two of their six total hits in the defeat.

Softball

Granby 17, Palmer 5 — The Rams improved to 4-0 following another convincing, five inning victory on Tuesday.

Granby grabbed 10 hits altogether, with Rowan Cook (3-for-4, two RBIs) leading the charge.

Meredith Bartosz also had a strong all-around game, smacking two singles for two RBIs and earning the win in the circle (two strikeouts, two walks).

Smith Voc 18, Westfield Tech 3 — Willow Hicks and Mallory Radwich propelled the Vikings to their season-opening victory.

Hicks and Radwich each homered and combined for five hits and eight RBIs in the massive win.

Kirra Trudell (1-for-2, triple) and Roma Bentrewicz also produced multiple RBIs for Smith Voc.

Grace Sampson went the distance in the circle for the Vikings, surrendering two hits and 11 walks while striking out four.

Girls lacrosse

Northampton 14, Agawam 7 — The Blue Devils pulled away in the second half with nine goals to ease past the Brownies.

Imanni Power-Greene (seven goals, three assists) and Makayla Fydenkevez (four goals, five assists) were Northampton’s catalysts on offense.

Ainsley Dawson and Alexa Rodrigue each saw time in the net for the Blue Devils and totaled 12 saves.

Boys tennis

Ludlow 3, Amherst 2 — The Hurricanes fell in both doubles matches in its close loss to the Lions.

Henry Michel (6-0, 6-2) and Elias Katsaros (6-1, 6-0) picked up points for Amherst in second and third singles.

Boys volleyball

PVCA 3, Belchertown 0 — The Orioles did not win a set for the first time this season in the loss.

Gavin Couchon concluded with 15 kills and Arda Cayan collected 28 assists.

Set scores were 24-26, 21-25, 24-26.

Granby 3, East Longmeadow 1 — The Rams rattled off three straight set wins after falling in the first to claim their fourth win of the season.

Set scores were 25-27, 25-10, 25-18, 25-20.

Jake Gagnon (15 kills, 15 assists) and Nathan Walsh (21 assists) played well for Granby.

Girls tennis

PVCA 4, Holyoke 1 — Madison Bruso won in second singles for the Purple Knights as their only point secured in the defeat.

Holyoke’s Scarlett Mendes pushed PVCA’s Lily Malloy to three sets in third singles.
