Regarding the May 23 article about FirstLight’s Northfield Mountain Pump Storage (NMPS) being sold to Hull Energy, it says that it is interested in providing clean energy. Calling NMPS clean is a false premise. Nobody can say that sucking the Connecticut River upwards with powerful turbines against its natural downward flow, using fossil and nuclear fuels and killing thousands of fish and eggs is clean energy. One must be curious about why FirstLight would even sell its huge profit-making machine. There is huge public outrage against this monstrous project during a time when many of us know we need to guard against false climate solutions.
