Delaney Ochs took home several medals in baton twirling as part of the season-ending slate for the Belchertown Twirlers.
First, Ochs earned seventh place at the National Baton Twirling Association’s Championships in South Bend, Indiana. Ochs competed against twirlers from around the United States, Canada and elsewhere in the Advanced Solo Division at Notre Dame.
Then, Ochs traveled to College Station, Pennsylvania two weeks later for The State Games of America National Championships. Ochs impressed, nabbing six gold medals and a silver, at Penn State.
In March, Ochs and Evyeanna Perry competed at the Massachusetts State
Championships where Ochs won the Pre-Teen Miss Majorette of Massachusetts while Perry claimed the the Tiny Tot Novice Northeast Regional Basic Skills Pageant.
Coached by Kristi Ochs, a free twirling class will be offered at Old Town Hall on Sept. 8 and Sept. 15. The class will be split by ages. Class for ages 3-5 will be 5:30-6 p.m. and class for ages 6 & up will be 6-6:45 p.m.

The Hampshire Regional boys soccer team captured the Pioneer Valley Summer Soccer League high school boys B championship on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The Raiders shut out Westfield, 2-0, at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow in the final, getting goals from Riley Florek and Emmett Stith. Goalie Isaiah Isa picked up the eight-save shutout while also being named tournament MVP.
