Golden Grasses

Fort River Trail, Moody Bridge Road, Hadley,

Photograph and text by Anne E. Ely, South Hadley

Near the end of the loop (or the beginning if you go in reverse) of the Fort River Trail on Moody Bridge Road in Hadley, there is an observation deck that overlooks large hayfields with the Holyoke Range in the background. In mid July during one of those beautiful puffy clouds days, the late afternoon sun turned the brown grass to gold as it filtered down through the clouds. The moving clouds created ever changing patterns on the grass.

I used a tripod mounted DSLR camera using a medium wide angle lens and polarizing filter to capture this image.
