Local caucuses are underway to select delegates to the 2019 Massachusetts Democratic Issues Convention to be held in Springfield on Sept. 14. This year, 16 and 17 year olds are eligible to vote and run for delegate seats if they are registered with their town clerk or at their caucus.
Easthampton and Holyoke held its caucuses on May 18, and on Saturday, June 1, caucuses will be held in Northampton (11:45 a.m. at JFK Middle) and Amherst (1 p.m. at Jones Library). Apart from drafting the state party platform on issues ranging from climate to jobs to health, attendees will likely get to meet a number of the presidential campaigns.
