Kudos to Gage Nutter and the Gazette for the wonderful article about Holyoke High School basketball player Brian Cristobal (Saturday, Feb. 16). What an inspiration that young man is!
And what a testament to the opportunities sports provides. As Cristobal says, basketball “keeps me out of trouble and off the streets. I want to be able to inspire other deaf people to see that they can do anything, not matter what.”
Well, Brian, you inspire more than deaf people, you inspire us all. Here’s hoping one of our local collegiate programs has a spot for you in a few years, to keep your basketball story going!
