Amherst native Mike Hixon earned the bronze medal in the three-meter individual event during the FINA World Series in Montreal, Saturday.
Hixon is coming off two silver medals at the FINA Grand Prix in Rostock, Germany the week before.
“It’s definitely a really good starting point,” Hixon said. “The World Series is a little more competitive than the Grand Prix so to get a medal here I feel really good about that and I’m excited to just keep going up.”
Hixon also competed at the last minute in the 3-meter synchronized competition on Friday with Steele Johnson and placed fourth. The competition was the first time the two had dove together as synchro partners.
