Easthampton scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh to break up a 1-1 pitchers duel and advance to the winners bracket of the Western Mass Summer League U19 playoffs, beating the Northampton Arcanums 5-2 Thursday night at Arcanum Field.
Aiden Consedineโs two-run single put Easthampton ahead 3-1 and the visitors scored twice more to go in front 5-1.
Northampton scored a lone run in the bottom of the inning to close out the scoring.
Isiah Colon was brilliant for Easthampton getting a no decision. The lefty went 5 1/3 innings allowing one earned run while walking two and striking out 11.
Will Sawyer went the final two innings for Easthampton and got the win.
Jake Brittain pitched well for Northampton also getting a no decision. Brittain went six innings allowing one earned run.
Dallas Elliott led Easthampton offensively with two hits and two runs scored.
Jackson Heath and Patrick Serio had two hits each for Northampton.
In Mickey Mantle action, Hatfield blanked Northampton 12-0 on Wednesday, and Brattleboro edged Mohawk 12-11 on Thursday. Hatfield is in third place with a 7-5 record, behind Frontier (9-3) and Mohawk (9-4). Northampton is 2-9.
In Sandy Koufax, Amherst beat Frontier 7-1 on Wednesday and lost to Greenfield 10-0 on Thursday. Amherst is in second place with a 7-4 recorder, while Greenfield is undefeated at 11-0.
