NORTHAMPTON — A naked man has yet again displayed himself to women in downtown Northampton, according to police.

Around 11 p.m. on Sunday, two women reported that a naked male, who appeared to be masturbating, exposed himself to them in an alleyway in the area of King Street and Trumbull Road, police said.

The women described the suspect as a white male with short hair. Law enforcement were quick to arrive on the scene, but say they were unable to find any suspect matching the women’s description.

Police say that, because of the description and the time and location of Sunday’s incident, they believe the man is the same suspect who has on at least two previous occasions appeared nude in front of women in downtown Northampton.

The first incident took place just after midnight on May 5, when officers were dispatched to Smith College’s John M. Greene Hall. Two women reported that a nude man had appeared from behind bushes on Gothic Street. They described the man as a white male with short dark hair, somewhere between 30 and 40 years old.

On May 13, at approximately 10:57 p.m., a 26-year-old female reported seeing a naked male run into view near the PVTA stop on Bridge Street.

The suspect — identified as a white male with dark hair, aged 20 to 35 — sprinted away east down Bridge Street.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
