Brian Cristobal-Deleon scored 16 points and Patrick Gubala added 13 points to lead the Holyoke boys basketball team to a 64-52 home victory over Hampshire Regional on Tuesday.
Justin Forest led the Red Raiders with 21 points, and freshman Dylan Rohan had a career-high 19 points.
“We played pretty well defensively in the first half,” Hampshire coach Lee Mollison said. “We wore down physically defensively in the second half and they were able to out-rebound us.””
Sabis 61, Northampton 45 – Jack Power dropped in 20 points for the Blue Devils in a road loss.
Seth Finnessey had eight points for Northampton, while Connor Tobin dropped six points and JustynRankins added five
Northampton 50, Sabis 37 – Eighth grader BriHeafey scored 10 points in her first varsity game to lead the Blue Devils to a home victory.
Riley Allen dropped in nine points while Ava Azzaro and Chloe Denhart each added seven points for Northampton.
A big second quarter that gave the Blue Devils the lead, as it outscored Sabis 16-9.
“It was nice we were able to get all 15 kids playing time with nine girls scoring,” Blue Devil coach Perry Messer said. “We played great defense throughout.”
