EASTHAMPTON — Easthampton Police seized 87 bags of heroin and several hundred dollars in cash during an undercover sting operation that led to the arrest of two Holyoke men early Tuesday morning.
According to police, the drug bust is part of an ongoing investigation into the sale of heroin in Easthampton.
Police seized 87 bags of heroin, worth about $305, from two Holyoke men at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday. About $450 to $500 in cash was seized during the operation.
Angel Rivera, of Holyoke, was charged with possession to distribute a class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug law. Santiago V Soltren-Ramirez, of Holyoke, was charged with possession to distribute a class A drug, possession of a class C drug and conspiracy to violate drug law.
According to police, they pair had traveled to Easthampton for “the sole purpose of selling heroin.” Police declined to provide further details.
