LEVERETT — A once-monthly outdoor market featuring jewelry, soap, pottery and clothing is returning to the Leverett Village Co-op during the warm-weather months.

The Second Saturdays Artisan Market is back on the second Saturday of each month, through September, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the grounds of the 180 Rattlesnake Gutter Road store.

Kari Ridge, an event organizer and member of the co-op’s board, said that the markets have provided a friendly, lively atmosphere for people to reconnect with the community following the isolation of the pandemic.

“We are excited to offer our artisan markets again this summer to provide connections and to showcase the immense talents of artists, craftspeople and musicians from throughout the Valley,” Ridge said.

At the first market, vendors will be selling handmade items including quilts, beeswax candles, rustic furniture, original paintings and prints and wooden spoons, bowls and boards.

Tarot card readings and massage therapy also will be offered.

This week’s featured band, Same Old Blues, will play Delta Blues.

During the outdoor market, the co-op store will be open for people to purchase groceries, bakery items, sandwiches, ice cream, and beer and wine.

If there is severe weather, the market will be called off.
