Below is a list of Veterans Day ceremonies being held across Hampshire County.
The Hatfield Council on Aging is hosting a Veterans Day breakfast on Thursday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center in Town Hall. Congressman Jim McGovern and state Rep. Lindsay Sabadosa will attend.
The Central Hampshire Veteransโ Services will host its second annual Salute to Veterans breakfast on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Bangs Community Center, 70 Boltwood Walk. The breakfast will be followed by a brief official ceremony in the North Common, weather permits.
Doors open at 9 a.m. All veterans are free, and a $7 donation is suggested for an accompanying guest. Advanced tickets only, which are available at the Amherst Senior Center, Veterans Services in the Bangs Community Center, and Central Service Counter in Town Hall.
The townโs Veterans Day event will take place Friday at 11 a.m. in the Belchertown High School Veteransโ Memorial Auditorium. The guest speaker will be Michael Erard, a Belchertown resident and Vietnam War combat medic. The Belchertown Chestnut Hill Community Schoolโs band and chorus will perform.
The city will hold its annual Veterans Day observances on Friday. The event beings at 10 a.m. when a firing squad detail will assemble at the American Legion Post 224. At 10:30 a.m., a delegation from VFW Post 3422 and Legion Post 224 will proceed to the Town Hall Civil War Monument. A brief ceremony including a prayer, lying of a memorial wreath, rifle salute and the playing of โTaps.โ The delegation will proceed to Brookside Cemetery Veterans monument and repeat the ceremony. At 11 a.m., the delegation will again perform the ceremony at the monuments at the Emily Williston memorial Library.
The dayโs main ceremonies will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the American Legion Post, featuring a guest speaker, award presentations and a performance by the Easthampton High School Band.
A ceremony will take place in front of Memorial Hall at 11 a.m. on Friday. A breakfast for veterans was held last weekend.
Williamsburg is having a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street between Burgy Brews and the Old Town Hall.
Hadley is having a veterans breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
