Sept. 16 is the Mid-Autumn Festival, an important holiday for the Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese people around the world. Last Sunday, the New England Academy of Chinese Language and Culture in Hadley celebrated by studying the traditions of the festival and making moon cakes. Above, Sue Huang of Florence helps her daughter, Una Ehrenfeld, 4, place a bit of pineapple into a ball of dough that Una shapes into a cake.
