AMHERST — A Monday morning incident in which two customers fled from a Belchertown Road convenience store after pouring milk and orange juice over themselves is being investigated by police.

At 4:25 a.m., police were called to the Cumberland Farms at 35 Belchertown Road when two young men entered the business, went to the cooler and took out containers of milk and orange juice that they then dumped onto themselves.

After spilling the contents, the men ran out of the store and left in a Ford Mustang, which has since been traced back to the University of Massachusetts. The suspects have not yet been identified.

Store management told police charges wouldn’t be pressed.

With the Patriots Day holiday, police were busier than a normal Monday morning, with three noise complaints, on Pine Street, Lincoln Avenue and Northampton Road, leading to three citations and one arrest for violating the town’s noise bylaw and one verbal warning, and a complaint from South Pleasant Street residents at 3:33 a.m. about an intruder who briefly got into the home before fleeing.
