Valley Blue Sox well represented during NECBL All Star Weekend

Three Valley Blue Sox players will represent the club during Sunday’s NECBL All-Star Game, while one player was selected to participate in the Home Run Derby. 

Pitchers Michael Weidinger and Zach Cameron as well as outfielder EJ Kreutzmann were selected to the West Division All-Star team while Michael Zarrillo was selected to the home run derby. 

Weidinger has pitched 17 innings for the Blue Sox this summer, striking out 31 batters, holding a record of 1-0 and securing three saves. Cameron has tossed 18 innings this season, producing a 4-0 record with two saves. 

Kreutzmann has been the top hitter for the Blue Sox this season, posting a .301 batting average in 28 games this season. His 31 hits are the most on the team, including 11 doubles. He has one home run and 18 RBIs. 

Zarrillo has cracked two home runs for the Blue Sox this year, which ties him for the team lead. He was one of 13 players selected to participate in the NECBL home run derby, which is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Fraser Field in Lynn. The All Star game will begin shortly after at 4:30 p.m.
