AMHERST — Boltwood Avenue in front of Town Hall, and extending to the intersection with Spring Street, will be closed daily beginning Tuesday morning as part of the reconstruction of North Common.
The street closure, running from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, is necessary so Caracas Construction can begin curb removal and installation of new drain lines.
Already, parts of the North Common, which includes the Main Street parking lot, is fenced off as a staging area for equipment.
Egress from the Town Hall rear parking lot will be accommodated during the daily work. The Boltwood closures are likely to last about two weeks.
The $1.79 million project to rehabilitate the .75-acre site will last through spring 2024.
