High Schools: Smith Academy girls basketball cruises past St. Mary’s, 62-31

The Smith Academy girls basketball team wasted no time getting into a groove offensively against St. Mary’s on Monday.
The Falcons led 15-8 after one and quickly turned that into a 38-17 lead at the intermission. Smith Academy didn’t allow the Saints to get back in the game in the final 16 minutes, as the Falcons went on to earn a 62-31 victory in Westfield.
Alexa Jagodzinski led the way with 20 points, Anna Scagel scored 12 points while Caitlin Graves and Jane Lavallee each added eight points in the win.
Lee 53, Granby 27 — Kalli White scored 14 points while Brenna Moreno added 12 points in the Rams’ loss to the Wildcats on Monday.
Frontier 58, Palmer 27 — Addie Harrington, Skyler Steele, Harper Modestow and Claire Kirkendall each recorded 10 points for the Redhawks, who got back in the win column with a victory over the Panthers on Monday in Palmer.
Olivia Machon added eight points in the win.
South Hadley 50, Wahconah 37 — Kate Phillips’ 13 points helped the Tigers earn a victory in Dalton on Monday.
Olivia Athas scored 12 points while Caitlin Dean and Cara Dean each tallied six points for South Hadley.
