As Bay State Bike Month rolls to a close, I’d like to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank the 30 incredible businesses along Main Street whose support helped make this year’s Northampton Bike Week a success. Their generosity and enthusiasm were on full display while fostering a sense of community and promoting a healthier, more sustainable way to travel.
From offering special discounts to welcoming cyclists to their shops, these businesses went the extra mile (pun intended!) to promote active transportation and show that biking isn’t just a way to get from point A to point B — it’s how we bring people together and build a more accessible, connected, and welcoming community. Thanks to their efforts, Main Street felt more alive than ever, buzzing with energy, pedal power, and a strong sense of local pride.
Community-driven initiatives like these remind us that when local businesses and residents work together, we can create lasting positive change. I encourage everyone to continue supporting these businesses, as they are an integral part of what makes our city vibrant and welcoming. A complete list of these 30 businesses can be found at nohobikeweek.com. A heartfelt thank you to all who pedaled, supported, and celebrated with us. Here’s to an even brighter, more bike-friendly Northampton. Let’s keep the momentum going!
