Brian Cooper: Groundhog Day on opinion page

Regarding the June 16 guest column response to Gazette columnist JM Sorrell’s recent column on the conflict in Gaza:

If reading something you disagree with is “so distressing” that the writer feels the need to use half a dozen big words to chastise a newspaper editor for having the gall to print an opinion you disagree with on the opinion page, it’s probably about time to fold up your newspaper, take a long walk by yourself, and have a good, hard think about things.

And for what it’s worth, my hat is off to Sorrell in general for so often having the courage to go against the grain of her progressive peers to write “unpopular” opinions on a variety of subjects, regardless of what I might agree with. Day in and day out, this page is simply filled with people taking their turns to give their identical opinions about the same two or three subjects. It gets to be like Groundhog Day over here.
