I would like to thank National Grid and their contractor, Neville Management for their quick and effective clean-up of the homeless encampment on the bike trail near Walgreens in Northampton. I realize that a group of people were displaced in this process, and I hope that the advocates were able to place each individual in a safe and more secure living situation. Once these individuals moved, what was left behind was an incredible mess of every kind, failed tents, garbage of every sort, rescued junk and the debris of chaotic lives. Very quickly National Grid stepped up through Neville, and those workers made a clean sweep of the area, picking up everything and leaving it as clean as one could imagine. I don’t know who paid for this and don’t really care, but the workers deserve our thanks, along with National Grid for their quick response.
