With regard to the Jan. 30 letter ”Time to get things done,” I agree it is time to get things done. The question is what things?

Do we really need to deport so many undocumented people instead of just the criminals? Do we really need to rename the Gulf of Mexico or Mount Denali? Is revenge against the president’s “enemies” or annexation of the Panama Canal or Greenland the most important thing that needs doing?

The only significant piece of legislation that has come out of a deadlocked Congress that I can remember was an immigration bill that the now-president scuttled so he could run on the issue. It is time to get things done that will help the American people, not increase prices, raise inflation or add to the national debt. So far, I don’t see it.
