Jennifer Delozier: It's all political, or is it?

I occasionally read the Gazette opinion page, and letters to the editor. I less often read my news app because, frankly, sometimes it makes me sick. Not all the time, just sometimes.

My interest in celebrities decreases as does my interest in any news that flatters itself, bearing the illusion of truth and playing games with others’ lives. Not just a quick game of pickleball played ever so gently, sometimes in the cold with gloves and warm socks to protect one’s sanity. But sometimes, it all sounds like truth or dare, I am bigger than you are, we’re going to get you back and retaliate as quickly as possible, let’s switch sides on the pickleball court before they can blink both eyes. They is Us.

Our blinking eyes sometimes drown in tears, hold us in hope, attempt to hold back despair, sometimes all at once. I don’t find it to be a cliche, but hopefully sometimes, the compassion for all beings can raise its extraordinary heart on both/all sides of the equation. It’s not math and sometimes it’s not even logical, but I propose that we look for answers somewhere beyond the games and the logic.
