Local roundup: Northampton, Belchertown fall in American Legion action

Northampton Post 28 couldn’t complete a comeback against Aldenville Post 337 on Wednesday night in a 13-8 American Legion Senior Division loss at Arcanum Field.
Northampton’s Ary Rubinstein knocked three hits and scored two runs.
Trey Kuzmeski added three RBIs with two hits, while Dom Badorini had two hits.
Post 28 fell behind 11-2 before clawing closer. Northampton (6-4) next plays Friday at North Adams.
North Adams 7, Belchertown 4 – Cody West (RBI), Cooper Beckwith (run) and Tyler McDonald (run) collected two hits each for Post 239 in a road loss in the Berkshires on Wednesday.
Brady Perkins knocked in an RBI triple, while Ryan Decoteau drove in a run. Alex West added an RBI single for Belchertown (6-2).

Amherst 7, Agawam 5 (Monday) – Amherst held on for the win against a hard-charging Agawam team with Oliver Howard pitching a 1-2-3 sixth inning to secure the win in district action at Mill River.
