The shop in Hadley lately occupied by William Stall, deceased, will be rented for the present. It will probably be sold within a year. A saddle and harness maker is wanted in the place. An industrious man of good habits would receive a liberal support. Inquire of N. Coolidge, Jr.

A little stimulus to aid in the great work of haying and harvesting this hot weather: St. Croix rum, American gin, New England rum, just received and for sale by Shepherd & Pomeroy at their shop in Northampton.

The International News reel being exhibited at the Academy of Music for the first three days of this week is of unusual interest, showing pictures of President and Mrs. Coolidge at “White Court,” the summer capital at Swampscott.

Alice Golash, three-year-old daughter of Theophile Golash of Michelman Avenue, was severely burned at her home yesterday while playing with matches. The child’s screams brought members of the family to her aid, but before the flames could be extinguished and the clothing stripped off, she had been considerably burned about the body.

The Northampton Conservation Commission announced today that it has negotiated an agreement to buy a 96-acre tract of conservation land in Leeds for $35,000. The land is presently owned by Floyd and Naomi Andrus of Northampton. It is located near the Leeds Reservoir on the southern half of Robert Hill.

A Northampton youth pleaded not guilty today to charges stemming from a break at the Bridge Street School last night which was thwarted by the timely arrival of police. Police arrived to find audio-visual equipment stacked outside the school, apparently ready to be loaded into a vehicle. The police car evidently arrived before the other vehicle and scared it off.
