The Northampton Youth Senior Football team won back-to-back games over a six-day period to take its record to an unblemished 4-0, with convincing victories over Ware and Ludlow during that span.

The Blue Devils, nicknamed, “The Main Event,” first beat Ware 31-6, scoring touchdowns on each of its first four possessions. “Mop-Mop” Soum-Morrero started the contest off with a 65-yard touchdown scamper, followed just a few plays later by a bruising 8-yard score from Brayden Rios. The next two possessions would see rookie sensations Damion “Turtle” Campbell Jr. and quarterback JB Staples match each other with 22-yard touchdown runs.

Next up for the Blue Devils was Ludlow on Saturday night, blanking the Lions 20-0. The home game at Smith Vocational High School saw one of the highest attended games in SAFL history, with over 600 spectators in attendance. The crowd would get the show they wanted, as “Mop-Mop” and Rios would own the day — combining to score all of the touchdowns en route to the shutout victory win.

There isn’t much time for rest as the Blue Devils will travel to Frontier on Sunday for a battle of unbeatens. The game will be at Frontier Regional High School, with kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m.
