New York Times best-selling author Erik Sherman and beloved Red Sox All-Star outfielder Dwight Evans will head to Springfield College to talk in person about their new book, “Dewey, Behind the Gold Glove,” which will be available for purchase at $35 (payment by cash only) at the event. Purchasers can have their copy signed by Evans and Sherman, and Sherman will do inscriptions upon request.

This event takes place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Springfield College (263 Alden Street, Springfield). The event will be held in the Dodge Room on the second floor of the Campus Union Building. Parking is available in Lots 5 or 9.

The Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) — the organization bringing Evans and Sherman to western Mass. — was established in Cooperstown, N.Y. in 1971 to foster the study of baseball past and present, and to provide an outlet for educational, historical and research information about the game.

The public is welcome and a donation of $5 is requested. Refreshments will be served and there will be a selection of baseball books, hats and other related items for sale.
