Sac fly in ninth propels Blue Sox past North Adams

It was a ninth inning rally to remember for the Valley Blue Sox on Wednesday against the North Adams SteepleCats. 

With the game tied at two, Will Gale led off the top of the ninth with a base hit for the Blue Sox. AJ Guerrero got on with an error that sent Gale to third, where Matt Bergevin drove him in with a sac fly to give the Blue Sox a 3-2 lead. 

Harrison Durow, who tossed a scoreless eighth inning, made it two scoreless inning in a row by striking out two and keeping the SteepleCats off the base path as the Blue Sox secured a 3-2 road victory. 

The win lifts the Blue Sox to 15-14 on the season. 

Thomas Ballard got the start on the mound for the Blue Sox, striking out three and allowing both runs. Michael Zarrillo knocked a sac fly to score Bergevin in the second inning to give the Blue Sox an early 1-0 lead. 

North Adams regained the lead in the bottom of the second with back-to-back doubles to give it a 2-1 lead. 

The Blue Sox tied things up in he fourth after Mason Wolf knokced one of his three singles in the game to bring CJ Willis home and knot the game up at two. Wolf also threw out two runners who were stealing from behind the plate. 

Dillan Ryan struck out two in the fifth before Cian Sahler pitched two scoreless innings while striking out four to keep North Adams off the scoreboard.
