NORTHAMPTON — Traffic on Interstate-91 southbound in Northampton will be transitioned from the temporary median bridges to the permanent southbound bridges over Hockanum Road, and over Route 5 and the railroad, the Department of Transportation announced Thursday.

The transition will take place in the overnight hours and will be completed by 6 a.m. Friday.

Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. Appropriate signs, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency.
