The Amherst boys tennis team will have to wait another day to officially punch a Western Mass. final ticket.
Rain thwarted the second-seeded Hurricanes’ effort on Wednesday against No. 3 Pioneer Valley Christian in a Class B semifinal match in Amherst.
Only two matches were finished before wet weather postponed the rest of the action, though Amherst won both to take a 2-0 lead and put itself on the precipice of a title-match appearance. The three remaining matches will resume on Thursday at 3 p.m.
The winner of the semifinal will meet No. 1 Northampton for the Class B title on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Smith College.
