AMHERST – People, businesses and organizations that have made a difference to the community, including by improving the business climate and supporting residents’  civic, educational, recreational and economic well-being, will be honored this fall.

The Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the annual A+ Awards, which will be presented at a dinner Oct. 6 at the  Student Union Ballroom at the University of Massachusetts.

“The A+ Awards are the most prestigious honor the chamber can bestow upon its recipients,” said Executive Director Donald Courtemanche.

Courtemanche said nominations are due by April 15 in the same categories as previous years, including Legacy, Most Valuable Player, Community Service, Lifetime Achievement in Business and Young Professionals.

After two years of holding the ceremony at the Hadley Farms Meeting House, it returns to Amherst.

”We’re bringing it home,” Courtemanche said.

Nominations should be sent by email to Courtemanche at don@amherstarea.com and should include the name of the person or organization to be honored, a short biography and other relevant information.
