AMHERST — Police are notifying the community about a registered Level 3 sex offender living in Amherst.
Joshua David Berins, 54, lists his address as 272 Lincoln Ave. He is a farm worker and is described as a white man with hazel eyes and gray hair, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
Berins was convicted in 2002 of purchasing or possessing child pornography, dissemination of matter harmful to minors, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and rape of a child.
Berins is not wanted by police, who are required by law to notify residents of registered Level 3 sex offenders living in the community.
