It seems like most drivers on the road today feel they are exempt from the “rules of the road.” I’m talking about the Exit 21 northbound off-ramp to enter Elm Street in Hatfield. It seems like every time I’m coming up from Route 5 to go to Hatfield someone runs the stop sign and cuts me right off. They speed down the hill when Hatfield Police aren’t parked on Elm Court to catch them. A lot of them are repeat offenders. I know we can’t have a police officer sit there 24 hours a day but something needs to be done. The problem would be looked into if the right politicians wife or child is killed. I think the money from the fines from the drivers that are caught would be very helpful for that stretch of road from Elm Court to Route 5. It could pay for a new guardrail, blacktop and line painting. Think about it fellow motorists. We would have a nice road there thanks to the violators.
